This Privacy Policy describes how the Press Tracker mobile application (the "App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you ("user" or "you") when you use the App. By installing, accessing, or using Press Tracker, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described below.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not install, access, or use the App.
1. Who We Are
Press Tracker is published by Kaleb Smith / Press Tracker ("Developer"). You can contact us at presstrackerapp@gmail.com for any question, request, or concern regarding your information or this Policy.
2. What the App Is
Press Tracker is a golf scorekeeping and entertainment tool. It is not a gambling service, wagering platform, sportsbook, or betting product. No real money, credits, deposits, withdrawals, prizes, or rewards flow through the App. All dollar amounts, "stakes," or "earnings" displayed in the App are hypothetical values used to illustrate a scoring format; they have no real-world value.
This Privacy Policy describes only how we handle information. A separate Terms of Service govern your use of the App.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account identifiers — when you sign in with Apple (Sign in with Apple), Apple provides us with a unique user identifier and, at your option, your name and an email address (which may be a private Apple-relay address).
- Profile information — your first name and chosen username, which you enter during onboarding.
- Golf match data — information you voluntarily enter: team names, team colors, hole-by-hole scores, match format, press selections, and the hypothetical dollar values associated with your matches.
- Social content — posts, comments, reactions, chat messages, friend connections, and any other content you create within the App's social features (the "Clubhouse" feed and related features).
- Communications to us — anything you send to our support email.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers for push notifications — if you opt in to push notifications, Apple provides us with a device token so that the App can deliver match invites, friend requests, and similar alerts. The token does not uniquely identify you as a person.
- Diagnostic logs — the App writes routine diagnostic output (errors, state transitions) to the device's console log during operation. These logs remain on your device unless you choose to share them with us (for example, by emailing us a crash report).
We do not collect precise location, advertising identifiers (IDFA), contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health, financial, or biometric data. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or tracking pixels.
3.3 Information Collected by Apple (Not by Us)
When you use the App, Apple collects information in its role as the platform operator and as the provider of Sign in with Apple, iCloud/CloudKit, and the Apple Push Notification service. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not receive from Apple any information you have not authorized.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account.
- Operate core App features: record scores, calculate hypothetical press outcomes, sync matches across your devices, and display match history.
- Enable the App's social features: deliver posts and messages to the people you share with, display your username and content to other users you interact with, and send notifications you have opted into.
- Communicate with you about the App (service messages, security notices, changes to this Policy).
- Debug and improve the App.
- Protect the App, our users, and the Developer from fraud, abuse, and unlawful conduct, and to enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use your information to serve advertising. We do not profile you for behavioral targeting.
5. Where Your Information Is Stored
- On your device. Core match data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
- In your iCloud account (CloudKit). The App uses CloudKit to sync match data, profile information, and social content across your Apple devices and — where you explicitly share — with other users. Data in CloudKit is stored by Apple on your behalf, subject to Apple's Terms and Apple's privacy practices. We do not run our own servers or databases outside of CloudKit.
- With Apple's push notification service — your device token is used solely to deliver notifications you have enabled.
Because the App relies on Apple-operated infrastructure, your information is stored and processed wherever Apple operates the relevant services, which may include the United States and other countries.
6. How We Share Information
We share information only as follows:
- With Apple, as a necessary operator of the Sign in with Apple, iCloud, CloudKit, and push notification services the App depends on. Apple processes this information under its own privacy policy.
- With other users you interact with, to the extent the App's features require it. For example, when you accept a friend connection, your username is visible to that friend. When you post in the Clubhouse feed, your content and username are visible to the audience you choose.
- With law enforcement or other parties when compelled, if we are required to do so by a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful process, or if disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Developer, App users, or the public.
- In connection with a business transfer, if the Developer is acquired by or merges with another entity, in which case reasonable notice will be given to users.
We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, analytics vendors, or any third party for their own marketing or profiling purposes.
7. Retention
We retain information for as long as your account remains active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time by signing out of the App and removing the App's data from your iCloud account through iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Press Tracker. Deleting the App without clearing iCloud storage does not erase CloudKit-stored data.
After account deletion, residual diagnostic logs and any content you have posted that has been received, cached, or retained by other users may remain — we have no technical ability to remove content that has already been delivered to other users' devices.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights with respect to information we hold about you:
- Access — you can review the information in your account from within the App.
- Correction — you can update your profile and content from within the App.
- Deletion — you can delete content from within the App and you can delete your account as described in Section 7.
- Opt out of push notifications — at any time, through iOS Settings → Notifications → Press Tracker.
- Withdraw consent — you can stop using the App at any time.
8.1 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the additional rights to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, contact us at presstrackerapp@gmail.com.
8.2 Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Other Jurisdictions with Similar Laws
If you are in a jurisdiction whose law applies to our processing of your information, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to our processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. The legal bases on which we rely are (i) your consent (for optional features like push notifications), (ii) performance of our contract with you (for core App features), and (iii) our legitimate interests (debugging, security, abuse prevention). To exercise these rights, contact us at presstrackerapp@gmail.com.
8.3 Nevada Residents
Nevada residents have the right to request that we not sell certain personal information. We do not sell personal information, so no action is required, but you may confirm this by contacting us.
9. Children's Privacy
Press Tracker is intended for users 18 years of age or older (see our Terms of Service). The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from any person under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe we have received information from a child under 13, contact us at presstrackerapp@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We use Apple's platform-level security (Sign in with Apple, end-to-end-encrypted iCloud services where applicable, device-level encryption) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet. You are responsible for safeguarding the Apple account and device you use to access the App.
11. International Transfers
Because the App relies on Apple-operated infrastructure, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Apple operates. By using the App, you consent to such processing to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services, including our own hosted Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, if the change is material, provide reasonable in-App notice. Your continued use of the App after the update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
